| SR Am/Int Ch Daybreak Java JH, WCX, CD, CGC, HOF | |
| This multi-titled girl qualified for the Curly Hall of Fame at the young age of five, joining fewer than 20 curlies ever inducted into the HOF.

| About This Breeding | |
| Java is a unique blend of old American and European lines.
Her sire, Magnum (Windpatch ZB Magnum WC), and his littermates were the last dogs to carry that historic American kennel name.
Magnum's pedigree traces back, in a few short generations, to many of the foundation dogs of the top kennels in this country, including Ch Banworth Ivurried WC (Ptarmigan), Waitoki Murere (Windpatch), Ch Lezah Nero (Windpatch), Ch Siccawei Black Rod (Windpatch), Windpatch Demure Anne CD ROMX (Summerwind).
Her Dam, Ursa (Mathel Flashdance ROM), is part of the very productive Mathel "F" litter that is behind many of today’s great American dogs.
Ursa is the product of a Finnish sire, Ch Haamorin Indeksi ROM (Dex), and an English dam, Ch Darelyn Zelsa (Zelsa).
Zelsa earned her championship by picking up three 5-point majors at the 1993 National Specialty and supported shows.
Dex was Reserve Winners Dog at that same Specialty. By breeding to Tenor we are returning to Java’s European roots. Tenor’s sire, Hasse (Int Ch, Fin & S Ch, Heathermead Huxley), comes from strong English lines including numerous Darelyn and Gladrags dogs. Hasse is worked in the field and has many accolades in the show ring as well as his working (field) title. Tenor's dam, Moxie (Ch Caballus La Nina TD, AX, AXJ) represents the best of Finnish lines including Caballus, Oaks and Haamorin kennels. Moxie received a Judge's Award of Merit at the 2003 National Specialty, was the 2003 CCRCA Agility Curly of the Year, and was ranked #2 AKC Agility Curly for 2003. |
|
| From this breeding I hope to get, in addition to good health and great temperaments,
puppies with nice coats, balanced front and rear, moderate angulation, elegance and upstanding Curly Type, sturdy height and bone mass, and solid toplines with smooth movement.
Both liver and black puppies are expected. |

| Accomplishments in the Field | |
| Although Java started her field work late in life (2 ½ years of age) she has earned four hunting titles (NAHRA SR, AKC JH, CCRCA WC and WCX) and has truly excelled in field.
In the 2003-2004 hunting season she, along with her daughter Rigby, retrieved over 250 birds.
Java’s dam and sire are/were extraordinary field dogs (Magnum passed away in 2003 at the age of 13, but hunted nearly to the end.)
Most of Java’s littermates are actively hunted and her brother "What" is currently working toward his AKC Master hunter. Java’s first litter produced dogs with great field abilities. Rigby (SR Daybreak Eleanor Rigby JH, WCX) earned her four field titles in her first 6 months of training. After a winter of real hunting she is now training for her AKC Senior Hunter title. Rigby’s littermates Karma (Daybreak Instant Karma) and Monty (Daybreak Sergeant Pepper) are both in training and will begin running hunt tests in 2004. Shellby (Daybreak She Loves You) is actively hunted by her family. While Tenor is not actively hunted he did earn his WC in 2003 at the tender age of 9 months. He is currently in training for his Junior Hunter title, as well as his Tracking TD title & Obedience CD title. He is showing stunning tracking potential. |

| Accomplishments in the Show Ring | |
| Java has excelled in the show ring as well.
Her second major came at the 1999 National Specialty where she won Winners Bitch at a supported entry show.
She followed this up with a Judges Award of Merit (JAM) at the 2000 National Specialty.
Java skipped the next two specialties but upon her return in 2003 she was awarded Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed at the National Specialty and at one of the supported entries as well. Java’s brood from her first litter also has excelled in the show ring. At their first National Specialty, Rigby was awarded Reserve Winners Bitch and her sister Penny (Daybreak Penny Lane) was first in the 9-12 month puppy class. Together they were judged to be the best brood in the show, winning Java the 1st place Brood Bitch, and also won the Brace class. Rigby has earned three majors this year and is one point away from her championship. She currently ranks in the top ten in the country in breed points. Her brother Monty (Daybreak Sergeant Pepper) finished in the top 20 Curly Coated Retrievers in 2003 after a big win in Waukesha, WI, where he took best of Breed over 17 other dogs under a European judge. Monty has 12 of the 15 points required for his championship and will likely complete the title this year as he gets out. Karma and Penny show the potential to finish their championships and will be shown more frequently when their siblings are finished. Tenor and his brother, Cajun (Flairfor Spring Loaded), have shown well in the ring. Tenor won the Puppy Sweepstakes at the 2003 National Specialty. Cajun was Reserve Winners Dog at the same show. Over the next two days of supported entries the brothers took Winners and Reserve Winners Dog honors. |

| Accomplishments in the Obedience Ring | |
| In 2003, Java perfected her obedience work and went on to take two Firsts and a Fourth on her way to earning her CD and winning the CCRCA’s annual Obedience Trophy with an average score of 193.3.
She loves obedience training and will continue with her open work this summer.
Penny has earned her CD, Rigby has 2 of her 3 legs toward her title, and Monty has just begun his competitive training. |
