 A fantastic week for Daybreak at the 2003 National Specialty!  Java 1st place Brood Bitch Rigby & Penny 1st place Brace |

Mason City, IA - At 9 months old, Penny earned 2 legs toward her obedience title! Rigby got to go to Group, & both had fun attempting conformation brace, an opportunity to practice prior to the Specialty. St. Louis, MO - Grandma & Grandpa were so wonderful to stay with the human kids while we took "the girls" to the CCRCA National Specialty. We had a wonderful week of visiting with Curly people, participating in every possible event, & truly enjoying this top-notch production! Huge appreciation & kudos to the 2003 Specialty Committee members! Daybreak had a spectacular week! Conformation: Java went Best of Opposite at the Specialty & at the Supported Entry show the next day. She made the final cut in the other two Supported shows as well. As if that wasn’t thrilling enough, Java placed First in the Brood Bitch class, testimony to Daybreak’s accomplishments in the "Lennon Litter". |
Rigby was Reserve Winner’s Bitch at the Specialty, & took a First place, 2 Seconds, & a Fourth place out of the Bred By Exhibitor class in these shows. She also placed 3rd in the 9-12 Month Puppy class in the Sweepstakes. Penny took one First place, two Thirds & a Fourth place in the 9-12 Month Puppy class. That both puppies placed in all shows is a wonderful compliment for Daybreak. Penny & Rigby also enjoyed a First Place in Brace (by default, as they were the only entry). And I mean, they enjoyed it! (see feature article) Obedience: Java earned her 1st leg toward her CD with the Highest Score in Novice A & the 3rd Highest Score in Trial! |
Being the only Conformation Brace at the Specialty, when we had made it around the ring with relative success, the judge asked if we wanted to go around again as long as we were there. I was SO close to saying, "Let's not push our luck." I should have listened to my intuition. Halfway around, Rigby (of course) decided she'd had enough of all this lack of expression & decided it was time to play with Penny. See it on the video! | |||

Field: Java was proud to pass an advanced hunt test, earning her WCX title, and Rigby was proud to earn her WC title at the young age of 10 months! |

usually great, so Java will go down for conformation "for the fun of it". Badlands, SD - We are planning a family camping trip for the week after school is out. We look forward to having ALL the kids along: human and canine. |
